Without a doubt, Lubbock has one of the most undervalued markets in the State of Texas for luxury homes. With a wide range of styles and custom architecture, it was difficult to select only one neighborhood as the best place to live in Lubbock. The top honors went to the ‘Tanglewood’ community, I was amazed driving through the serene streets at the quality of home combined with the beauty of the natural surroundings. Along with architecture and style, I also gave Tanglewood the top placement due to its school zone and proximity to the city.

Lubbock hasn’t always been a haven for premium-styled apartment complexes. I will admit, living in Southern California spoiled me, but when I returned to Lubbock I was shocked to a find a great selection of new apartment complexes in excellent locations. My favorite apartment was ‘The Centre at Overton Park’, I’m a big fan of residences being built close enough for walking to restaurants, classes (if you’re a student), along with some great nightlife hot spots – and ‘The Centre’ had all of these things combined with a great look and feel. This is a great place to live if you are a Tech student or young professional.

Lubbock may not be a top tourist stop in the nation, however it is not without its charm when it comes to lodging. From traditional hotels to quaint bed & breakfast destinations, I’ve enjoyed my tour of the city’s best places to stay. The top spot of the hotels and lodging list goes to Woodrow House, a beautifully designed bed in breakfast located directly next to Texas Tech, and within walking distance to several of my favorite dining establishments.
